A MERSEYSIDE HORROR STORY
Hello Everyone,
I was trying to get information on the Wallsey care home abuse case and I came across this from The Liverpool Echo dated the 27th of April 2012. The article is by JohnSiddle, and It isnt very nice I am sorry to say. There is a second story included and I have got that one to give you after this.
That second story is a real horror story.
What I find highly disturbing is the fact that this is a BUPA care home and run by a professional medical person.
DEMENTIA SUFFERER INJURED DURING STAY AT SHAMED CROXTETH CARE HOME
A shamed Merseyside care home was today at the centre of a fresh probe after a 89-year old Gran was found with serious arm injuries. The daughter of frail dementia sufferer Elizabeth Perry claimed her Mum had four accidents in just ten days while in the care of Stonedale Lodge, a BUPA nursing home in Croxteth.
She was based at the homes Dalton Unit, where last month a court heard a 90-year old Gran was left to crawl naked around her filthy room. Joyce Farrow, who was found covered in dried faeces, died of unrelated illness five days after leaving the home, in September 2010.
Now Liz Perry, 49, who acts as her full time carer to her Mum has reported fresh allegations of negligence to the police. She claims she was not told how Mrs Perry injured her arm and hand, which was severely bruised.
BUPA said it believes Mrs Perry who was taken to hospital on April 12th 2012, over fears she had broken her arm, may have fallen.
They today apologised for the " distress" suffered by the family.
Liz, of James Holt Avenue, Kirby said "" I put my Mum in for some respite because I was her main carer. When she was there, they told me Mum had walked into a glass patio door, fallen over and was found on her bedroom floor in the night ( This would be the other 3 accidents ----la chatte )
After 12 days I had a call saying she had had an accident and could I take her to hospital.
They told me at first she banged her arm on a table, but now they say they do not know what happened and they will investigate.
Four accidents in 10 days--whichever way you look at it, is unacceptable.
Very kind regards la chatte
